Company History
S² Branding & Marketing was born when owner Shannon Shulters recognized a major gap: small and local businesses were missing out on the benefits of digital marketing simply because hiring in-house staff wasn’t practical or affordable. With years of leadership, branding, and communication experience, Shannon created S² to offer accessible, professional digital marketing services tailored to real-world small business needs. As her personal brand, The Unboxed Mind of Shans, grew, Shannon found that her passion for authenticity, confidence-building, and creative storytelling naturally enhanced the work she delivers to clients. Today, both brands work hand-in-hand—pairing strategic marketing with genuine, unfiltered storytelling that helps businesses stand out and stay memorable.

Meet Shannon
Shannon Shulters, Owner
Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, Shannon Shulters has always been deeply connected to her community. A 2005 graduate of Evergreen High School, she later earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Organizational Management from Tiffin University—building the foundation for a career centered on leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and service.
Shannon discovered her passion for marketing, storytelling, and business development while serving as the Assistant Director for the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation from its startup in 2014 through 2018. Supporting local businesses through their early growth sparked something deeper: a love for branding, connection, and the impact of clear, intentional messaging.
After her time at FCEDC, she broadened her experience across a variety of industries—including automotive, concrete, insurance, and scrap metal recycling—giving her a wide-ranging understanding of the everyday needs and challenges faced by small businesses.
In 2021, she launched what would become S² Branding & Marketing, Inc., a company dedicated to elevating small businesses through strategic digital marketing, storytelling, and brand development. Her personal-growth platform, The Unboxed Mind of Shans, later emerged as a space where she openly shares her journey in authenticity, boundaries, emotional growth, confidence-building, and leadership.
Shannon is also deeply active in her community. She serves as President of the Swanton Rotary Club, volunteers regularly, served on the Wauseon Chamber Board of Directors, and is a proud graduate of Fulton Leadership University (Class of 2018).
She currently lives in Lyons, Ohio, where her greatest joy is time spent with her daughters, Makayla and Leah. Their school activities, sports, and everyday adventures inspire much of her purpose-driven work. Outside of work, Shannon can be found reading, walking, creating content, or simply enjoying moments with the people she loves most.
A lifelong learner and advocate for personal growth, Shannon recently added another credential to her toolbox: she is now a Certified Life Coach. This certification allows her to expand her consulting services to include personal development, mindset and confidence coaching, and emotional wellness support—helping individuals and business owners strengthen not only their brands, but also their internal clarity, confidence, and resilience.
Shannon blends business strategy with personal transformation, reminding others (and herself) that the strongest brands—and the strongest lives—are built from the inside out.
